Here are our Top 10 tips to make your Biography outstanding!
1. Research your story! Make notes of the events you want in your Video
Biography by talking with other family members and friends. The more work
you put in at this stage, the better the end result will be.
2. Sift through many photos, home videos & old diaries! It may take a while,
but finding the right pictures for the right stories will make the film
interesting and relevant.
3. Try and choose the right people to be interviewed! It's no good asking
someone who falls to pieces in front of a camera!
4. Don't rehearse what you want to say in an interview! It's looks far better
to be natural than reading from a script.
5. Answer the questions in the interview with a full sentence! e.g When did
you get married? We got married on the 10th of July 1943. In the final
programme, the questions posed will be edited out, so full sentences will
make more sense.
6. Details are a good thing! But not too many to bore people!
7. Don't worry about making mistakes! We can easily edit any errors!
8. Don't be afraid to be emotional! It all adds to the humanity of the story.
9. Don't rush! Take your time in the interview - It's a once in a lifetime
Opportunity!
10. When selecting your package, choose carefully! Once you start talking, you
will find it hard to stop! From experience the time will fly by, so make sure you give
yourself long enough for the final programme!
